This is the second part of the 10 articles series that will explain in detail the top 10 methods to Earn Money Online. In this article, I will explain how to Make Money Online through Blogging. In the previous article of this series, I had given a brief overview of making money online by displaying ads on website or blog. If you have missed that part, please make sure to go back and learn the basics. Although both of these parts are pretty much same but without knowing the fundamentals, you won’t be able to grasp the techniques in a shorter period of time. I have designed the series for the beginners who have little or no knowlegde of earning money on the internet. By going through the series of articles sequence-wise till the end, you can easily find yourself in a state to pick up one method that fits your knowlegde and skills and set to earn your first dollar online.
What is a blog?
The word blog was formed by combining two words “web” and “log”. It is essentially a website on the world wide web where people can express their thoughts through posts. Unlike a static HTML website, a blog is an interactive web page with people commenting in reply to the posts and sharing it with their friends. Typically, a blog has a few pages and a lot of posts. The pages consits of primary information about the blog like an about page, contact page with a form, archives etc. The post has a title and the body which consists of either text, images or both. It also has an author, a published date, social sharing buttons, commenting sections and ads displayed on some section. Although, the structure might differ from blog to blog but this structure can be seen on almost every other blog.
How to earn from the blog?
Now we come to the main part. How is it possible to make money from the blog. To make it easier for you to understand, I would split this part into two.
1. Earn from your own blog
If you have decided to launch your own blog, you can earn money by displaying ads from Google Adsense and Infolinks etc. I had discussed in detail about earning from ads on your blog in my previous post. In addition, you can offer to sell links, ad spaces and even content. Having your own blog is a great idea but it needs more time and knowledge. You have to look after the web hosting, renew domain name, write content, promote it and manage almost everything related to the blog. But the best thing about having your own blog is that you get the maximum benefit out of your efforts.
2. Earn from Guest Posts
One good option to jump into the the blogging arena without risking money and time is by contributing your stories on other blogs. This is commonly known as guest posting. There are thousands of blogs out there who offer guests to write for their blog. In return, you get part of the revenue generated from the ads or they will ask you to put your own code in the post area. It totally depends on the blog owner. All you have to do is to search for blogs related to your area of interest and ask the authors if they accept guest posts. Sometime you can get all the details from “write for us” or “contribute” pages provided by many blogs that accept guest posts.
